NBC Television Studio Tour

Is the TODAY Show your favorite way to wake up in the morning? What about a chance to see Saturday Night Live cast members in rehearsal for this week's broadcast? If so, the NBC Studio Tour is a must see attraction while on vacation in New York City. The NBC Studio Tour is in the GE Building at Rockefeller Center and provides a behind the scenes look at some highly rated NBC shows and a 75-year history of the network.

Three Working NBC Studios

Visitors will get the chance to see up to three working studios (not necessarily during taping) at the NBC building. Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Dateline NBC, Saturday Night Live, Later Today and the NBC Nightly News all tape in the GE Building. Visitors start the NBC Studio Tour at the NBC Experience, a museum and interactive attraction that will allow you to sit down and be interviewed by a taped version of Jay Leno. Using bluescreen technology, visitors can take the chair on the Tonight Show with Jay or Conan O'Brien. You can even buy a tape of your "interview" for a memento. For weather fans, visitors can hop in front of the national map with a virtual Al Roker to give the days forecast. NBC Photoshoot allows you to take a photograph of yourself on a virtual set of your favorite NBC show. You can choose from either the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, TODAY, Late Night with Conan O'Brien or Saturday Night Live. Bob Costas Sports Trivia exhibit will allow you to match your knowledge of football, baseball and basketball against the well-known NBC sports broadcaster. A television control room built especially for tourists shows how shows are produced and controlled during broadcast.

For early risers who love the TODAY Show, the show is taped each weekday from 7 to 9 a.m. Visitors can wait outside the studios during the broadcast for a glimpse of Katie Couric or get a quick interview with Al Roker. Visitors need to remember that NBC Studio Tours are within a working television production environment which could result in daily changes to the tours. Just because your aunt and uncle watched rehearsals of a certain show doesn't mean you will.
